St. Edward's School, Oxford
Founded in 1863, St Edward's is an independent, co-educational boarding school situated in North Oxford. Currently there are about 680 pupils in the School between the ages of 13 and 18, of whom 60% are boys and 80% boarders. Day pupils work and live in the Houses alongside boarders and are as much full members of the School as those who stay the night.
At St. Edward's, we teach every boy and girl how to think, not what to think. We provide an environment that helps them develop insight, judgement and character. To us, this is as fundamental as helping them to achieve the best possible grades to enter the most appropriate university and to thrive there. Almost all our leavers proceed to university (most of them to Russell Group or 1994 institutions) or prestigious art and drama schools, and a number of pupils in each year group are awarded places at Oxford or Cambridge.
St Edward's also has a national reputation for sport: boys' and girls' teams have been county and regional champions in a variety of sports and at all ages.
